French Bakery Signs

I miss French baguettes--their taste hasn't been duplicated by a US bakery yet. It's one of the things I look forward to whenever I go to France. I found some French bakery sign photos on Flickr. Inspired by Sara Midda, I painted a few of them using artistic license for the colors.

Sleeping Cat

Remiggio the cat was sleeping on a wicker chair under a patio roof in Tuscany. Nice life.

Classroom Exercises

In 2008, I took a watercolor class at Otis. These are some of my practice paintings.

About Me, Part 6: Ferris Bueller and The Civil War

Other things I paint are inspired by a momentary idea. Unclassifiable on this blog for now.

About Me, Part 5: Interiors

I'm a fan of Mark Hampton's watercolor interiors. This was inspired by his work. I should do more, but they are pretty intimidating for me to paint.

About Me, Part 4: Outdoor Places

Places that are not in Europe. I like to paint those too.

About Me, Part 3: The Rest of Europe

Although France is my favorite European country, there are plenty of wonderful things to paint in the rest of Europe.

About Me, Part 2b: France Encore

About Me, Part 2a: France

I've been to France several times, and each time I fall in love with it even more. It's my favorite place to paint.

My First Commission

A lady found me on Flickr and asked if I would illustrate some packaging for her company, Petali. These paintings are for a line of tea-flavored cookies.

About Me, Part 1: Food

I love painting food, especially desserts.
